This is the writeup or walkthrough of the easy ctf LoneStarkN-V1.

Task 1 : Exploitation

QUESTION #1 -> Ftp Server Password?

Discover hidden directories of web server and find a music file decode the message inside it with spectogram.

QUESTION #2 -> User.txt

After login in the ftp server you will find a picture dicode that or extract information from it and follow the hint inside it to get first user password and then cat the user.txt

QUESTION #3 -> User2.txt

After getting the user.txt search to find a encoded file you will know about the directory which is having a wordlist.

Crack the password with hydra using that wordlist of the second user and find the user2.txt

QUESTION #4 -> Root.txt

Find the file with root permissions and exploit the system maybe check gtfo bins after doing it and you can cat the root.txt

Question #5 -> Root Password?

Find the flaw which can help you to cat any file without being root and then view and take the hashes of the /etc/shadow and the /etc/password files and use the tool unshadow and then use john to find the root password.
